Porto Cesareo (Lecce, Italy) Ionious Sea, 2 m depth 13 Aug 2020.

Al momento è l'unica locatà in cui abbiamo rinvenuto questa specie che riteniamo non sia ancora stata descritta.

Specie apparentemente somigliante a Berthella stellata (Risso, 1826) ma dalla quale è facilmente distinguibile per la mancanza di macchiette bianche sul dorso oltre che dal colore del piede completamente bianco, mentre la branchia continua ad avere la medesima colorazione del mantello.

Species apparently similar to Berthella stellata (Risso, 1826) but from which it is easily distinguished by the lack of white spots on the dorsal side as well as by the color of the completely white foot, while the gill continues to have the same color of the coat

Specie di dimensioni molto ridotte, a malapena supera 1 centimetro di lunghezza.

Very small species, barely exceeding 1 centimeter in lenght.

Sempre molto variabile questa specie di Berthella. Qui sopra mostriamo due esemplari piuttosto estremi.

This species of Berthella is always very variable. Above we show two rather extreme pattern.
